Changed EDP contract of house to my name, so EDP secretly upgraded my contract to the max and signed me up for EDP Health Insurance without asking me

So I changed my EDP electricity contract of house to my name, at the EDP office in Lisbon

I speak basic Portuguese and girlfriend speaks fluent Portuguese, so there was no miscommunication

We were there to simply CHANGE the name of the contract to me.

It’s quite slow to wait, and then another 30 minutes just sitting there in front of the desk with the EDP woman doing something.

No idea WHY this has to be so slow, seems like a basic thing. But that’s normal in Portugal. Basic things can be very slow (and difficult).

A week later I receive a letter from EDP Saude (the EDP health insurance), telling me thanks for signing up to their health insurance plan for EUR 50/mo.

I never signed up for anything of course.

So EDP secretly upgraded my contract to the max plan and signed me up for EDP Health Insurance without asking me.

I tried to cancel or change the plan on the EDP portal but it was impossible to change anything or cancel.

I then called EDP, they take my information and say “no problem I will fix it for you, I will just forward you to the right department”

I was then put on hold for 30+ minutes and they hung up on me, video above

So first they fraudulently sign up you up to their max plan and health insurance, and then they make it impossible to cancel.
