Driving without drivers licence for more than a year

I got my wallet stolen May 16th 2024. In that wallet was my Driver’s Licence.

I reported it stolen at the police station and called the IMT.

They got me an appointment to have the driver’s licence replaced for July 7th 2024.

Then I got an email in September 2024 that they are “analysing”, and since then I haven’t heard anything. They do not care about my case when I call them. I have had people with connection to IMT reaching out as well, but they come back telling me that the IMT department simply doesn’t care about my case.

My son took his driver’s licence here in Portugal, and he got his licence after 3 weeks, but replacing stolen driver’s licence apparently takes a bigger effort.

I often need to cross the border in car, but as it is right now, I’m driving illegally as I’m not allowed to drive outside of Portugal without the licence, but still IMT couldn’t care less.
