Portuguese people don't understand the concept of personal space

I’m Portuguese, but I absolutely hate this about my own country: Portuguese people don’t understand the concept of personal space. They feel the need to stick to you like glue. Think about lines to pay your groceries at the supermarket, or any other line for any other reason you could think about. It’s simply annoying. Yes, I think it’s cultural, but I hate it.
