Rubbish (and worse) covering almost every street

The streets in Lisbon are some of the dirtiest I’ve ever experienced. It’s litter, junkmail, overflowing bins and dog poo everywhere.

It’s a common comment made by people who come to visit me here in Lisbon, and it’s just impossible to ignore at this point.

I think the solution is probably some combination of more accountability from the public, more enforcement of those who break the rules, and more street cleaners on patrol.
