Shouted at by postman for not speaking Portuguese

In the entrance of my building, the postman asks me a question. At the time my Portuguese was very limited, said I don’t speak Portuguese well, only to receive a barrage of shouting … good thing I didn’t understand what he’s saying.

Expect to be turned away or mistreated if you don’t speak Portuguese, this includes government services. Sometimes you get lucky, often times not.
