Bought a car from a car stand (dealership), assured that I get a warranty for anything that goes wrong. All of a sudden the warranty is not covering much, and I have to deal with a third party. The official Nissan dealership kept changing a lot of parts before giving up, every time the car is there for a few months, until I found an external mechanic who could fix it.
Second-hand car market in Portugal is a complete disaster, historically high taxes on bringing in used cars from other EU countries (took 7-10 years and being sued by the EU for them to change the rules), and a very bureaucratic process means car supply is very low. Add to that a culture of only selling cars when there’s something wrong with it, and no good mechanics, and almost all of them overcharge, and don’t allow you to buy parts off the internet otherwise they won’t do the work.
