Had terrible noise issues in one "luxury flat" on Av. da Liberdade due to a confirmed plumbing malfunction, making it impossible to sleep. It took eight weeks before anyone came to inspect it, and four months before an attempted (and failed) repair. With no confirmed timeline or compensation offered by the landlord, I eventually had to move out.
I relocated to a newly renovated building, hoping for better, but now the floors shake every time a car passes. The constant vibrations make it hard to work or sleep. My rent is €2,600/mo.
The Lisbon rental market seems focused on short-term rentals with poor construction quality and aesthetics, rather than real livability or long-term standards.
