"The doctor won't be here until next month"

I had to see an ENT, so I got an appointment last week via the clinic website, got my appointment confirmation email etc and this was THE ONLY doctor available near me (and I had to drive there so not that close!)

BUT upon arrival to the clinic I get told not only that my appointment didn't exist and I was not showing up in the computer, but that the doctor in question is not in the clinic at the time and will not be here until NEXT MONTH

Which is crazy because the only reason I chose this clinic and this date/time is because THIS doctor in question was only available in that clinic TODAY

I woke up early + took the car to go to there because this guy was literally the only ENT available around

Apparently their appointment system works like this: after you navigate the maze that it’s their website and you somehow manage to get an appointment (because the website works very poorly), then you fill up all your personal information, then you see an “Appointment sucessful” message on screen, and then you get an appointment email with the details of your appointment –– apparently that all means your appointment IS NOT CONFIRMED and is pending confirmation from the clinic (which they never sent, neither confirmation nor email saying “your appointment is not valid”) Weird system if you ask me but hey, I’m not Portuguese so how would I know

In their defense I’ll say the girl in reception who took me was very nice and apologized and said "sorry this is not a good first impression of us" etc, and got me an appointment for next week, very good service. But I already lost my morning to this 🙃
