The inconvenience here for package deliveries is at another level.
It’s one thing that half of the packages don’t arrive until you start bribing every single delivery driver (because they’re all overworked, so you have to give them money to incentivize to actually deliver your package).
But then there’s the crazy signing for every single package delivery, doesn’t matter how low-value or tiny it is. In other countries, they just drop the package in front of your door.
What makes it worse is that there’s so many different delivery companies active here:
You have CTT, DPD, DHL, UPS, Paack, SEUR, GLS and MRW.
If you order stuff here on Amazon, it will randomly pick a delivery company (to be fair this is Amazon Portugal’s fault).
This means your doorbell will ring at 8am when CTT arrives for a package, then maybe half an hour later, DPD, then again DHL, then Paack, then maybe UPS, then SEUR etc. etc.
Every single driver will want you to give a delivery PIN that’s hidden in some email, or never even sent, or your signature.
So essentially you’re trying to work from home, but every 15-30 minutes the doorbell rings and you get disturbed and have to pick up some package. I feel like I live in a post office.
